Public Programs

Over the years of conducting education programs at schools and scouting groups, we were repeatedly asked by the parents and teachers "Where can we bring the rest of our family to see the cats?" In response, we expanded our school assemblies to public presentations which we call "Wild Cat Adventures." The one hour presentations are designed for family viewing. Currently, we are presenting our Wild Cat Adventure programs several times a year in Sebastopol.

The Wild Cat Adventure presentation features 5 live wild cats. The cats currently appearing as outreach ambassadors include a cougar, cheetah, serval, ocelot, fishing cat, black leopard cub and Geoffroy's cat. Five cats are featured at each presentation. Each cat is shown on the stage as information about its habits, habitat and threats is shared with the audience. Natural behaviors like climbing, leaping and hunting are demonstrated in a safe and exciting manner. The audience, from preschool age children to grandparents, learns, first hand, about these amazing cats that share our planet with us and what all of us can do to help save these magnificent animals from moving toward extinction.

We have fun wild cat themed merchandise available to purchase at the Wild Cat Adventures. All income from sales of tickets and merchandise goes directly to support WCE&CF programs.

The ticket price is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

A guest at one of our recent presentations e-mailed:
" I was truly amazed and charmed by these big cats. They have a dignity and beauty that is astounding when viewed up close. Thank you for presenting these cats, and spreading awareness of their plight around the world."

We hope to see all of our old friends and meet new friends at one of our programs.

Due to changes in state and federal regulations, we are discontinuing our public Wild Cat Adventures at Foothill College. We are looking into alternate venues that would work for future presentations. We greatly appreciate the support the South Bay community has given us for the last 10 years and we hope you will continue to be a part of wild cat conservation.
